Exploding Arc-Aligned text

Has anyone exploded Arc-Aligned text?
I tried using the express tools "Explode Text" but I keep getting "no text found". I can use the normal explode tool but the text comes out single line and backwards. I'm using AutoCAD 2008.

thanks

Buy me a Beer?

Just did this in 2009. First, explode the arc aligned text with the standard explode command. That gave me regular single line text, each letter separate. Then, explode text express tool on each letter. Worked for me.

Hi Gerry, yes I have done that but I do not want the single line text. Example with exploded mtext the original text is still intact.

For example. When you create some arc-aligned text, select Arial font. When you explode the text the font changes to standard single line text.
Now explode some Arial mtext and the font remains Arial.
Is there a way to explode arc-text and keep the original font?

When you explode it, the font becomes whatever the font in the current text style is. MTEXT does the same thing for me. It changes to the font in the current text style.

ahhh very good. I'm not a CAD expert hence the question. How do I set the current text style? I will google it and ask here.

Thanks Gerry!

Thanks again Gerry!
Have you tried to "arc-align text>explode>Express explode text" on the bottom side of an arc?
Interesting behaviour there! What I'm doing is here.
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106153
I want to put the team name aligned on the top of the baseball and the player name aligned on the bottom side of the baseball.
Example:
Top: "New York Yankees"
Bottom: "Babe Ruth"
I decided not to put the logo inside the baseball as in the last post but replace the logo with the players number.
Inside baseball "3"

Thanks again for all your help Gerry.

Just did, and it worked fine.
Honestly, I don't think I've ever use arc aligned text before this. I had to use Google to figure out where it was.

Just played some more, and I think the strange results you're seeing are from the Arc Aligned Text. I got it to do some strange things, like upside down, and forward with backwards letters, and when exploded, the letters turned around
Stick to the basic inside and outside and you shouldn't have any problems.

Gerry would you mind posting your Text style window and the window you are using when creating the arc-aligned text on the bottom side of a arc?
I have tried quite a few combinations and my text on the bottom arc is doing what you were getting when playing. I think all my settings are so mucked up by my trial and error that I will spend a month trying to get this to work.
