Hello All; I am new to Autocad. Took a beginners coarse at the local vocational school. I don't know how to render a surface on a 3D wireframe. I need the surface so GMAX can find my object. Can someone tell me how to render a surface on my wireframe in Autocad or GMAX? Thanks JP |

| I'm assuming you drew it with 3D polylines, or splines? If so, there are no surfaces, and you'll need to create meshes. Use the surface commands, edgesurf, tabsurf, rulesurf, and revsurf. Use surftab1 and surftab2 to change the mesh density. If I'm not understanding you correctly, could you post the drawing so I can take a look at it.

| Hi ger21; I don't know if it is 3D polylines or splines. The drawing is generated with propriatery software. Is there a way that I can figure out if it is 3D polylines or splines, or convert it to 3D polylines or splines? I will email the author. He lives in England and probably won't respond until tomarrow. I can't post the drawing to a public forum. Sorry. I can email it to you with the expectation that you won't reveal the contents or purpose. Thanks JP |
