    Help figuring out the angles

I have a drawing of a cam I need to cut out. I need to know the process behind cutting the arc. Do I cut it based on the current position of the tool or based on something else?

Looking at your drawing, the problem come to mind is where the two radius meet at the bottom. It is come to to sharp intersect and no endmill get into the sharp corner. I guess you have to EDM it.

If you just want endpoint I can help.
The best way to learn is trial error.

If this is a cam then you can machine it with the same dia tool as is the follower. You won't really need that sharp of a corner between the radii. This part could be stamped out with a press if it is light enough.

I don't quite understand what you are asking.

Are you asking how to program where the cutter needs to go (CNC G-Code)
Are you just generally asking how to make the part?

If its the first question the coding depends on your equipment and setup.

If its the second question I would suggest using Wire EDM to get that corner in there because a Milling Cutter can't do it. Alternately make a die and stamp the cam if it is thin enough material.
Stuff i can use: AutoCAD 2010, AutoCAD Inventor 2010, Solidworks 2009, MasterCAM X2/X4, CNC's FADAL, and Hurco 3-axis CNC Mill
