possibility that remains free, is there..
if you looking for the reasons, then you get the answer..

it was about a 3-4 years ago when piracy was on the ""top""

you typed any high end program in google, and the first 3-7 page of google showed nothing, but websites you can download freely the actual versions..

if something free, then folks wont hack it..
no one hacks wordpad because its free..

the main riskfactor was always the ""hobby user"" category.. since they surely couldn't afford paying for a program..
certain way after hobbyist companies also used this free resources..

another part of this strategy by autodesk, companies will buy it, regardless price is 5K or 50 dollar..
but their workers after work this way can work on jobs at home without additional licences..

so if you compare with solidworks, then you need to count on, company buying one licence, and unlimited home use..
solidworks wont offer ever free versions..

also, subscription isn't invented by autodesk, adbe illustrator don't exist anymore in conventional way, only subscription..

so counting on everything, fusion a very great deal

also beside it stays free , that example meshmixer started free and its free.. without internet connection you can use..

there were companies made their living before of same program.. or even their program knew less..
