Default Deeper and slower cuts for "weak" cnc router?

    Hello

First, i dont know if i am right here. I am using fusion 360 so it cant be that wrong.

I want to mill pmma with a 3mm one flute bit. If I go 1mm deep and 150mm/s (6 in/s) i get a good result, but it is extremly slow and takes 10 hours per piece. If i go 500mm /s (20in/s ) its a complete fail, because the mill dodges up or to the side. I wanted to give my router one last chance bevore i buy a better one. What if I go 150mm/s but 3mm deep? I would spray water to the mill to prevent melting

Do you think that could work? Maybe you tried it yourself or you may know that deeper needs even more power than faster or etc.

    Thank you

What kind of milling are you doing? Are you surface cutting? If so, use the 3d adaptive roughing if you need to rough, and use the scallop toolpath from outside in.

    Just use a 2D pocket
in the passes tab you can set the depth to whatever you wont including the step over also tick tolerances and smoothing the default should be fine and use Feed optimization this makes the cornering quite smooth.

then In the linking tab set the ramp to smoothe profile and make sure you set the Angle to 1 or 2 degrees with the step down the same as what you set in the passes tab for depth of cut
