My new Chinese machine arrived the other day . I had purchased it with the DSP controller board removed. I purchased a 6 axis breakout board and was hoping to wire it in . I am have a few issues with and have little or no help. The stepper driver has 4 wires coming out of it . Black ( shield) , Blue ( Dir-), white ( step-) and red (Step + 5 v ). The breeakout board has provisions for a "Step" and "direction" wire. The breakout board also requires a constant 5 v so I got this from the onboard 5 volt power supply. What do I do with the red ( Step + 5 V) wire. Does the stepper driver require 5 volts or was the stepper driver supplying 5 v to the original DSP controller board? I have attached a pic of the original DSP controller, the DB25 BOB and the wiring diagram. I dont want to fry something ,so if anyone can help that would be great! |

| Word of caution... I suspect if you're using the DSP board that it was running 12V, including the limit switches etc... If your breakout board is 5V, it might not tolerate direct connection. Don't have enough info on hand to advise further, but just wanted to let you know quickly before you start hooking stuff up |

| Yes thanks for that . I appreciate any and all help when it comes to wiring stuff up . I have got the machine jogging now. The only problem is (Yes) the limit switches. I have the 12volt supply seperate to the BoB. I am at this stage wiring them up ( again) |
