I'm looking at buying a Syil Mill

Hi guys,

I'm looking at buying a Syil X4 or X6 milling machine. The thing is that the new owner is in Queensland and I live in Wangaratta, Victoria.

I'm hoping someone will own one of these machines close by and wouldn't mind me calling by to have a look at it.

I just want to see one running and get a bit of advice on the Syil products before I comit to buying one.

Why not buy a X3 or Super X3 and get a conversion kit from PROMiCA ?

That's what i did... almost finished putting it together..

Thanks for your advice. I'll keep the X3 option in mind.

I like the Syil X6 for it's size and spindle speed, but I'll have to work out what I can afford.

I don't understand why you would suggest the X3 or the Super X3 when the OP was wanting to know about the X4 or X6. Is there something in the conversion kit that would make the X3 or Super X3 comparable to the X4 or X6 only cheaper by going the route you did? I am new to all of this so I am just trying to understand.

I have the X6 and use it for production work.. you get a lot of grunt for the price. I find it just big enough to be profitable... the only down side being the lack of power draw bar and auto tool changer, but we're just modifying ours.

I can buy 4 of these when compared to a small Haas mill... so far it's outperformed my expectations. I wouldn't mind some more spindle speed though.

I have an X4 and am in Melbourne (Wattle Glen) near Hurstbridge.
Thats about a 1.5 hr trip from Wang.

Your welcome to come and see it running. I like the unit and given the curerent price of the units they are an okay buy. I only use it for my personal use.
