G'day everyone, new to this site, as a member anyway, i've been skulking around on and off for a while, picking up ideas and whatnot, and thought i may as well join and formally introduce myself. I'm a Maintenance Fitter by trade specializing in plant services, steam, compressed air services, refrigeration, process water/ trade waste etc. I also tinker with cars and motorcycles (pretty much anything with wheels or an engine) when i have any spare time. I'm also in the process of collecting bits and pieces for a planned (diy)cnc plasma cutter build. Another reason for joining. I'm sure in the near future i'll be posting heaps of questions about what to, and what not to, build/buy/beg/borrow. Cheers Kwakaman. (yes, i've owned several Kawasaki's) |

| G`day Kwakaman, Welcome to the Forum. With your trade background it will probably be quite easy for you to build a machine. Are you going to the CNC BBQ in Melbourne on July 4th? Would be a great opportunity for you to meet like minded people, and may give you some ideas. They are a great bunch of blokes with stacks of knowledge. I had the pleasure to meet some of them at last years BBQ. Rocket. |

| Thanks for the welcome Rocket, unfortunately i wasn't able to get to the bbq, i've had a fairly full dance card recently with work, kids sport, etc. It's amazing how much time you can spend on here checking out various builds and machines only to get sidetracked and then start checking out unrelated but still incredible builds, ideas, tricks and tips that could be used or varied to suit any number of types of equipment. There's certainly a wealth of experience and knowledge to be tapped here, which i'm sure will come in handy for my upcoming build. Cheers Kwakaman. |
