Hi Guys, I have been trying to engrave a 140x75x10mm acrylic plate with 4 lines of 10mm high text, one line includes an email address. After trying DeskEngrave and a few other programs which are ok for single line text, I downloaded Vistools. Most free/low cost programs have trouble with single stroke fonts. Most truetype fonts are enclosed which means it takes twice as long to machine the plate. Vistools was the easiest to use but the single stroke fonts don't have an @ symbol. I tried the Cut2D/Cut3D/Vcarve family but it will take me longer to learn than to engrave a plate. Anyone got suggestion for simple engraving software suitable for small plates, electronic cases(ABS) and front panels etc with 2-10mm font sizes. My mill is a Dos TurboCNC CNCed Seig K1 with high speed (8000rpm) belt drive conversion and PCB carbide V bits. I know Mach and EMC can do text but I don't want to upgrade my machine PC. I just need a Text to G code converter. Gavin |
