Hi,

I missed the last Melbourne CNC BBQ.

Is there another get-together planned in the future?

My current state of play: Just about to upgrade to a Smooth Stepper and C23 cnc board . (after damaging the PC parallel port!)

Depends when you wish to host it Bruce

Normally we manage a couple a year with maybe 3 in a good year.
Gives people a chance to build, and the regulars to get over hosting the last one

Hopefully we can see a few of those G540's up and running.
My compound table frame setup is 100% sorted, but is limited to 5mm endmills and .5 cuts in alloy at 11k rpm with kerosine as coolant.
Thinking of bigger and better machine, wishlist, 35nm dc servo spindle, BT40, 6 tool carousel, 500x250y300z, iron frame benchmounted, 3gecko G202 xyz, 3 off 1200 oz/in steppers, viper200 for spindle, old xylotex for toolchanger and 4th axis.

Nice dream, it will cost about $4000 to build myself, take about 18 months.
