    Great build Michael,
Can i ask you what size your gantry aluminium extrusion is and how stiff and rigid is it?
Am currently planning my mk2 router and was considering a mdf gantry but have just found a UK site that has 45x90mm 1meter lengths for GB£23 which would be an acceptable price, any bigger and the cost rocket.

    Thanks Rob

The gantry size is 80mmX 80mm with the guides top and bottom, the lenght is 730mm and no flex, a lot stronger then i thought and very pleased with it.

Last update before xmas, z and y axis completed and running, mounted my router.
Next step is to buy 12mm Ali plate for table top and a small piece for the front top section of the table, that way I can do edge facing.

    Cheers Michael

    Hi Michael,

You’re machine looks great and you have made some nice upgrades with the precision rails and guides. Have you noticed much improvement over the angle and bearing guides you removed and what voltage is you stepper power supply. Thanks for posting all the photos.

    Hi Rob

    Thanks for those great comments.
The power supply is 72V dc .
Upgrading to linear bearing guides seems to run a lot smoother, less weight and racking.
The skate bearings on the angles were ok for starters but the angles need to be hardened steel as they start to wear.

    Cheers Michael
