Looking for hobby CNC machinist - Melbourne

I had planned on building my own CNC machine and have been "lurking" around this forum for sometime. However as changes have been made I am no longer able to build my own machine at this stage.

The plan was to build a machine to make a 2 x base plates out of aluminium of around 12mm thick out of an alloy that is of reasonable quality (can be welded)

Would anybody be interested in generating a CAD file and machining this up. It isn't complicated, essentially a flat plate with a couple of holes in it. The job is too small for an engineering firm with CNC equipment.

If you are interested my email is shaunc@people.net.au

If this should not be here please delete.

Cheers,

Shaun

Hi Shaun,
About 15 years ago I saw old guys restoring vintage car parts at tafe night school.
I thought this unusual, when I asked them I was told they had enrolled in 'milling and turning 2' and were forfeiting their result so they could do their own work.
Apparently a dim view of this was not the case, simply pay the staff wages and behaving correctly seemed the consensus.
I personally cannot offer large machining until I buy a large mill. (someday)

I hope this helps you.

I can do the cad file, My friend has a Mill, with Mastercam on it, ancient version 9, if you supply the information I may be able to produce for you! One thing, I prefer to stay away from AUTOCAD!
