Hi, just finished converting my Sieg X2 type mill to CNC, motors are 495 oz/in , KL4030 drivers, C10 break out board, 24v 8amp power supply. Motor mounts and ballscrews are CNCFusion, and Mach3 software. Ran some sample cuts in some scrap aluminium last weekend using some of the Mach3 wizards, pretty cool. Thought I'd share some pics, ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now I just need to get my head around this whole CNC thing :-) |

Cheers. Two years ago I decided to convert it but only seriously started ie ordered the parts and pulled the original mill to bits, about three months ago. This forum along with, John from Keling Technologies and Michael & Shelley from CNCFusion have been so much help. Both these guys are excellent to deal with. It has been a real experience and I must say a few headaches along the way but now it's done it is SO COOL ![]() ![]() Even my wife thinks it is cool, what more encouragement does a guy need ![]() I've just ordered another motor and driver from John and have a small dividing head that I picked up that will become my 4th axis, that is going to just top this project off nicely. Cheers. |

| Congratulations, that's a really nice tidy job! Watch out for the chips on the bottom of your Z axis ballscrew, you don't want them getting inside the nut. I'd cover it, perhaps a telescoping tube or something. Looks great anyway. Best, Jason |
