Hi Everyone here,
This is my first posting (obvious) and to give praise where due, this is a great site!!!
First I'd like to say the Melbourne Group that organized the May CNC BBQ displayed an outstanding presentation...very well done!
The first project I am working on, is to rebuild a 1985 ANCA Vertical CNC Milling Machine with a 4 axis servo drive system having X, Y, Z axes and a vertically mounted NC rotary table as the A axis. This Mill belonged to Newport Technical College and originally had an ANCA2000 controller that was scrapped a few years ago. The final configuration I am still working on as to power the quill or to power the knee for its Z axis. I may power both. I am intending to use Mach3 as the new controller software.
To test program this mill I will be using a variety of licensed software including:
ISO Manual programming (G-Codes etc.)
Script computer assisted language ( Text geometry)
Parametric CAD/CAM systems ( pick,click & hic technology)
Postprocessor creation.
Thanks for a great site, Allen. |
