Hi there, I,m in Picton New Zealand. Been building various versions of small CNC routers for use with wood for the last 7 years. I am now converting my latest model to servo drive using the UHU chip. Got the bare boards from Embedded Systems . Very nice - double sided with solder resist and silk screening. Already have the UHU chips and was held up for lack of the IR2184 drivers. Then found that futurlec.com has them available for US1.90 ea. They have most of the other components needed as well. All at reasonable prices.I have dealt with them quite often and get very good service. Is there anyone else in the Marlborough area building or already using hobby CNC? Contact me at bhm@paradise.net.nz |

| Just be careful, the Futurlec 2184 is a surface mount part, I don't know if the UHU board you have uses a surface mount ic. I designed my H-Bridge for a 2184 DIL package and when they turned up that is when I discovered they were the surface mount version .I had a few problems with that particular board anyway so it wasn't a big deal, just designed another one, to suit the SMD chip. Do you go through the US Futurlec site or the Aus one ? I use the Aus one and find them quite good, postage takes a little while but their prices are worth it. Russell. |
