What to buy: X5015 or HM45 clone?

Hi everyone,

I've been looking for a medium size milling machine for some time and can't decide between a HM45 bed mill versus a X5015 mini knee mill. I need it initially for manual milling, but would like to eventually make a CNC conversion.

I've had a look at the HM45 but I can't find a shop with a X5015 on display to have a close look at that machine. So can anyone here offer some comments or opinions about the X5015 and whether it is worth getting it over the less expensive HM45?

I don't know the X5015; but I Know well the HM 45 now... I received this machine recently. I dismount the gear box before any electrical connecting because I see this post . I found an extremely thick oil almost jelly. after purging, I wash with withe spirit. and I find several cm3 of sand and iron filings!!I am continuing my investigations and found 5 defective ball bearings.
I carefully inspect every corner of the smelter and found several " bags" of sand that I carefully scratched
Now I changed everything and I had a run in period of 2 hours each speed.
new disassembly, only a few micro iron filings normal!
I use oil gearbox mechanics, car...
now it is still necessary that I inspect the tables and mechanisms! after the chips!
this is my experience of the HM 45!!
