    McMaster-Carr won't ship to Australia!

    Hi Everyone,

I have recently been searching for a piece of Precision ground steel (1/4x3x24 inches) and found the exact item at McMaster Carr in the USA. However they advised me that they will only ship to a few long standing Australian customers, due to the complex export procedures required! Does anyone know a similar supplier, or someone in Australia that could supply the aforementioned bit of steel?

    Cheers,

    David

    Give Elwood a go

    Hello David

I have used Elwood ( Woody ) Beauchamp for about 7 shipments to Oz, I have no problem in using or recommending him to a fellow Oi Oi Oi, he will either send one item or will re-pack several shipments ( from different suppliers ) into one box, most stuff takes < a week except for one shipment I had sent by ship, again Woody did it all in the US but it was expensive and time consuming here, out customs people went to the Hitler school of customer relations, were generally surly ( exzcept for one person ) and appeard to go out of their way to be difficiult, small boxes comong in by air don't appear to attract GST and if you are hit for duty, mention " free trade agreement " customs will charge you duty until you mention FTA, BTW they will also charge you GST on the duty so best to bring the total down, again Woody has been great and very easy to deal with.
