Cicio jump on a plane down to Vic and I will help you out.

Seriously are you a hobby user or is this for your business?

What machine are you needing to run with Mach3? Do you have experience with other CNC control systems?

If it is hobby I suggest you watch the videos on the Artsoft site.

They will give you a reasonable start and then there are many helpful members on this forum and the Artsoft forum who will help with questions.

hi
thanks for the reply
but theres got to be someone in brisbane that can help.
well i built the plasma router for hobby and i am having all sorts of trouble getting started , like i down loaded some dxf files and saved them on desktop then went into sheeetcam and the dxf file wasnt in desktop(simalar with mach3) i could not import the file into the programs yet when i close the sheet cam and mach3 the files apear to be right there in desktop .so i couldnt do anything so i got slightly pissed off and gave up .because i dont know why.

Hi Cicio

I'm in Zillmere and have limited experience with Mach3 running on my WidgitMaster Midi Router. I can show you the basics but as Greg said you should check out the videos on the Mach3 support site.

Where are you?

Cheers,

Claudio

Well I dropped in to see cicio today and we eventually got the machine setup properly with Mach3 and managed to plasma cut a 100mm circle. We were both very happy. Once we get the official specs of the rack on the x and y and the screw on the z then the cuts should be very acurate.

Next step is to find the best program that can handle plasma cutting and routing as this is a dual purpose machine.

Anyone had experience with using VCarve Pro on a plasma / router or any other suggestions?

Cheers,

Claudio

Smile thank lots

i would like to thank claudio
for spending afew hours with me and help me set up or configure the machine
it was very exciting to complete the first plasma cut on my home made machine after all the hard work and occasional problems and many phone calls
wow it does work ! so it was all worth it .
now i just realised i have an even bigger job in learning ,and how to use the
programs . but i realised this going to take some time and a lot off trial and error and slowly slowly less errors.
regards cicio
