help with laser

Hi I'm wandering if there's anybody in Brisbane who has a k40 laser engraver. I would like to meet up with somebody who is in Brisbane. We can pick up each others brains.

i have one but it's no good picking my brain as i have only had it since 25/11/11 and only used it for a mass total of 3 hours and had 2 power supplys blow up

I'm not in Brisbane - sorry.
If it is not lasing at all, send it back?
If it is lasing somewhat, you will need a power meter **of some sort**. This can be as cheap as a solar cell into a 10 ohm load with a beam splitter which can be a scrude as a bit of GladWrap. Just don't shine the laser straight into the sensor! Attenuate it!

What is all that stuff? I have no idea. The tube is working but just so far out that I can't set. And as for posting it back the postage will cost more than we paid.
