Chinese stepper motors off Ebay - Opinions/experiences

Hi All,

I have just started my first CNC build and am trying to sort out what to do with motors.

I'll need a 4 axis nema 23 set up, 2 for X axis, 1 for y and one for z. Has anyone had any experiences/issues with something like this from Ebay?

My other option is to grab the Nema 23 4 axis set up from CNC router parts which I know would work and work well. But of course it comes down to money!

I really need a pretty much 'plug and play' set up as the electronics are one part that I am struggling to get my head around.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The stepper motors have a rated holding torque of 175 oz.-inches, which is on the small side compared with what many others are using on DIY CNC routers.

Some people have had success with those Chinese TB6560 driver boards, but a lot of others have run into problems. If you are looking for plug-and-play with a minimum of hassles, then that may not be the board for you.

Thanks for the help. I think I am just going to bite the bullet and go with some gecko motors. I can see myself regretting it if I don't.
