    Fadal tool chaange problem

    Hello To all
I have a fadal vmc4525 2002 model and have a tool change problem.
It was running a program and went for a tool change.
The tool changer indexed the next tool to position, rotated the tool change arm to grab the tool in the turret and then just sat there.
I waited for a minute or so but nothing happened.
I was sending a program through via dnc at the time.
    I cancelled the program.
Now it says tool changer not in home position.
Is there a way to get the tool change arm to return to its home.
At present the machine can not be moved as the tool change arm is still holding the tool in the turret.
At this stage there has been no crash and i would like to keep it that way.
The manual refers to manually running the drop axis motor in the tool changer to get the arm clear.
    Is this the only way.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At a guess, the sensor which tell the controller that the turrent is locked in position has failed (roughly). So the controller is waiting ...

Can you look at the input signals via the screen?

    Cheers
