Festo cylinder on bandsaw

Hi all, Has anybody used a festo cylinder with oil for the drop control on there band saw?. I have a few of them all air operated. However I would like to use one on my band saw.

Hi Mate if you were to use a variable flow restrictor on the outlet side you could just us it as an air cyl.This would let you lift it with no restriction and slow the drop to nothing if you wished. We use these to slow air cyl travel speed down on food equipment .

Hi mate , I ended up using a 1 way festo exhaust valve and a festo manual adjustable valve ended up using a by pass line so i could raise the blade quickly. I am painting the machine shop at present however I will post some pic latter if you would like to see what I did. also I ended up filling the cylinder and lines with hyd oil all works really great no more broken bi-metal blades I hope.
