Any Tasmanians here?
I've scored a large amount of stuff, and I'm throwing around ideas for a CNC mill for making kids toys out of MDF and similar materials.
2400mm Linear Actuator (Rollon - Uniline)
2x ~1600mm linear rails, 75mm across, and 4 trucks to suit
many servo motors with opto position sensors on the back
heaps of nema23 (i think) steppers
Nice reduction gearbox with servomotor and encoder bolted on - handy 4th axis - maybe...
Basically, after ideas and inspiration on how to put it all together!
If you haven't already, check out CNC Machines - Woodwork Forums. You'll find lots of info about DIY CNC routers/mills from locals. I'm not sure how many Tasmanians there though - besides me
While I've been interested in CNC for a while and even started on a build a couple of years ago (never finished), I've just recently bought a small CNC router which I'm in the process of setting up.
