    New CNC Setup Problems

Hi All, Ive just bought a Chinese CNC Router. It came with NC Studio and Type 3. I have never operated a CNC but have used Zund Plotting Machines. We have set this Machine up as best as the terrible instructions allow. However When we open a Dxf up in NC studio it shows Cad Code which is different to what the Instructions show and the Machine wont run. The NC studio seems to want either g or nc code and Type 3 is saving in vnd and we cant work out how to fix it. I am in Newcastle NSW and would love to know if anyone near by can help set it up. I want to use it to cut 2d drawings for gaskets for modified Race car Engines.

You should take a sample of the code to the CNC section of your local TAFE.
Consider doing a Mastercam course to learn how to code.

I would be surprised if your code is not g code. Your should use note pad to write code. The extension are largly irrelevant at your level. Just rename the file extension.

Consider using MACH 3 to control your router.

If you want more help send me a code sample an some details of your machine.
