Pre-make some PCB's, and leave a good copper area for name then engrave the name on the day with Greg's little machine. This is a dry process. (LOL)
Sounds like a plan, I have been thinking that relying on the printer will be a little risky, it played up when we moved house last time, and that was from the house next door ! Though the weather at the time played a part with that.
Any hoo, what I think I will do is to make a few boards at home and have a crack at making some on the day, that way if the printer dies in transit (or goes to Singapore) I will still have samples to give away, and if the printer works I can show it in action, and have a lot of samples to give away.
I might change the board pictured to include Melbourne and the date, and leave it at that.
Russell.

Hey Greg!
We will have to see if Derek can get his machine over to the next BBQ! I'm also going to see if i can get my girlfriends dad, Alan, to make it this time. I've spoken with Derek & know he is more than keen to get there, and it's even close to home!
Cheers

Hello
I am new to this group but I would like to come and see some of the displays and meet some of the members.
Regards
Don (domar)
Hi - I also am new to this group and like Domar would love to have the chance to meet a few like minded people who may be able to assist me with my many challenges of coming to terms with CNC machinery and how it works.
You mention the BBQ is in St. Albans - do you have an address yet?
John (Eggo)
Would it make more sense to have an optional BBQ BYO or buy a ticket?
Rather than a heap of people bringing their own and coping with the tracking difficulties etc... buy the meat in bulk based on those signed up for a ticket.
Bring your own, or join the group and pay for the privledge? This could help cover the costs for the host (such as gas, ice for drinks etc...) and incidental items people magically expect to find available (bread, sauce, salad, plates etc...).
I am definitely interested in buying a ticket - far easier as I will be travelling down from the country - may be two attending - what is next move here??

Hello, my name is Andrew (mif73), I would like to attend with another mate (Wayne), and possibly one other (Eric).
We work in the cnc service industry but seem to take our work home with us for some sick reason
What time would this get together start?
-Thanks, Andrew.

LOL Russell the love muscle , just make sure you bring your cnc to the BBq
cheers
yes, as indicated i'm in. All i can bring is my new z-axis.
Ok the official starting time will be 10 AM, but those who are displaying stuff can arrive at 9 AM ( Is this OK Ivan ?)
What is the address, so I can put up a map?
I will provide extra sausages, onions and bread for those who want to arrive empty handed. $2.00 each will cover the costs? I will also bring some cans of soft drink too. Maybe 2 bucks each too.
Peter Homann has told me he wants to add a MODIO and LCD to the prize pool. (Thanks Peter) The prize pool now consists of 1 mach3 license, 1 Lazy Cam license, 1 Modio, 1 lcd display, 1 cut 3d licence. More than $500 in prizes. (Thanks to all our sponsors)
I am told there will be a compilation DVD for sale on the day. I'm not sure of what it will contain, but it will be $10.00
Being outside the square !!!
Benny,
Yes, I'm happy to provide a ModIO and LCD display for the prize pool.
Since I'm doing a talk on the ModIO (and Modbus), if there are any specific issues that people would like me to discuss then let me know.
It would be great if people left feeling that they had learnt something.
At this stage I'm thinking of basing the talk around setting up and configuring Mach3 for Modbus and then using the ModIO as a pendant controller, utilizing the ModIO dll plugin.
Cheers,
Peter.
