Create a new post processor for drag knife code that doesn't use the M3.
Hello,
My cnc machine refuses to operate below a certain rpm, so using the drag knife at 0 rpm proved difficult. I am able to solve it manually by changing the code, putting // in front of where ever it says M3 (a manufacturers suggestion)
but it would be much better if I had something set up in the software that already knew to tell the cnc to override the spindle speed alarm, since there a number of people who may end up using it and I want to simplify the process.
Does anyone know of how to set up a change or who to talk to about getting that done for aspire?
thanks
Isaac

Thank you Gerry, that answer leaves me with more questions (like what is a post processor and how does one create one?) but I am grateful that you have headed me in a direction and I will now research post processor(ing)! if there are any tips concerning this it would be much appreciated.
'thanks
Isaac
You choose a post processor to match your machine when you save the g-code from within Aspire.
In Aspire, under Help, is a post processor editing manual.

Thank you Gerry, I now know what a post processor is, and where to find them...progress! I am wading through the manual, and will see how it goes from there.
When i saved the edited pp file, it just saved as a text document, is that normal?
Also when saving the toolpath I seem to only have the one post processor option, not a list to scroll through, so I need to figure out how to change that setting so I can see all of them in order to choose the one I edited, any suggestions?
I figured out the drop down menu thing
All working! thanks for steering me right Gerry.
