Difference in Artcam 8.0 and 9.0

What are the differences in Artcam 8.0 and Artcam 9.0 . I can get Artcam 8.0 at a fair price. Just wondering what the differences are.

Mainly just the layout of the buttons. Which I can't say was an improvment. And it can import .pdf files. Also Ogee and Round over tooling is in the tool data base. If the price is right grab the version 8. Your not missing much.

I have been using Version 9 for a while now and I can say there is great change.
First of all, there is a future that helps you diffeent layers of reliefs on the same project. So if you if you need to do couple or more reliefs and than save them and put them on top of each other, you don't need to open several projects, you can do it on one. At first this seemed like useless for the projects that I do, but the more I use it, the more I understand the importance of it.
Also, on version 9, there is a rope creator tool that I use a lot, which makes things easier.
What do you work on ?
If I knew what you were doing, maybe I can tell you if version 9 is too much for you but I need to know what you are working on.

I just picked up a Gerber demension 200. It came with Omega art path which is only 2D. Looking to get software that will do 3D. Either artcam or Enroute3. As for what I am making Just wood signs. I do not do it commercially just play with it. Big boy big toys. Thanks

Here's the rope creator for version 8. I wasn't all that impressed with it. There again I never needed to put a rope boarder on anything.

No problem. I must admit kerimurkun has a valid point with the relief layer feature on version 9. Thats a real time saver. And I can't say ArtCAM is better than enroute3. But it is kick ass. I find most the jobs coming to my shop require so much less than what ArtCAM can deliver. A cheaper package will still make you money.

    Good luck,
    Todd

    If I remember right.
Extract zipped files> My computer> Local Disk (C> Program files> ArtCAM> Paste in "Tool Box"

You should have "Face Wizard" in the toolbox already. Just add there.
It should work with 2008. Don't see why not. But I really don't know.

    Good luck
