Dear All

First of all I would like to say that I am very new to all this and as so I am obviously in need of a lot of support.

I have a ABB robot ( Very Old) working well and I would like to modify it.

Basically, I want to be able to control it with a conputer and CNC/Robotics software.

This robot has a very large cabinet which I want to get away with and make it work with a smaller controller unit as the technology has now evolved quite a lot.

What I would like to know as a first question is how to best aprocach this

The Robot is a IRB6L.

I have already started looking into what the motor uses as motors and encoders to move and found out that they are just DC motors which are are rated at about 70v and it uses a resolver for the feedback information.

Anyone has any idea of how to interface this product with a computer?
