RAMPS board - where do I start?
Sorry all for asking a question thats doubtless been asked before - the more I sift through the more confused im getting.
Ive finished building myself a little mill do do some parts in acetal using a dremel.
I have a full RAMPS1.4 board that I had spare from a 3d printing project.
What on earth do I put onto it to make it run with my CNC?
Is it just a case of using 'any' g-code interpreter (like the standard 3d printing stuff) - such as Marlin or RepetierHost?
If im designing my parts in SketchUp. What CAM (?) software would you recommend to generate the tool paths to then be exported to my RAMPS board?
Thanks in advance
Josh

It is confusing, but I think you have your terminology a little bit mixed up. Marlin is firmware for the Arduino, and Repetier Host is a gcode sender (although Repetier also has a firmware for Arduino you can use instead of Marlin). So you have a few choices for firmware and for gcode senders. See this thread for a link to grbl for the Arduino Mega2560/RAMPS1.4 combo:
