I was just wondering what ttl was and what it is used for. thanks mike m

The only TTL I know of is Transistor-Transistor-Logic which is a voltage standard for logic IC chips, may be there is another abreviation used.
Thats 5Vdc BTW.

Dont quote me on this but from what I understand TTL is a method of transfering encoder signals back to the servo drivers where the length of wire may be excessive. Differential is the alternate method but the wire length of differential is limited to about five feet before the signals become unreliable. You may want to investigate this a bit further as what I am saying may not be entirely accurate.

It's the other way around. And don't take the five foot number as a hard limit for TTL.
