Hello all,
Now that my machine is up and running, I'm looking at different cam software to buy.
I would like to make a sign with the letters proud, opposite of engraving I guess. Everthing cut away but the letters.
I'm thinking on getting Sheetcam for normal 2d cuts, it seems to work well with Mach2.
I have AutoCad, and I have access to MasterCam although I don't know how to use it and time at the station would be very limited.
Can anyone recommend the software that would be needed without having to morgage my house.
Thanks
Chuck

That does look like a sweet package, but I'm guessing big bucks. this is just a hobby so I'm gonna keep searching....will MeshCam do it?...i like that price...

MeshCAM will do it, if you can model it in AutoCAD, but Sheetcam should be able to do it as well, without having to make a 3D model.

Thanks Gerry,
I'm playing with SheetCam now......It probably will cut the outside of the letters but I ain't figured that one out yet...I'll keep at it..

I use SignLab with the routing/engaving module, it has built in features for creating tools paths, clean up edges , tool selection etc. Export as a dxf, GC1 GC2 GC3 and use Mach2 to cut.
