While repairing a customer's PC, I saw a shortcut to a program called Table Saw Miter Angles and had to check it out. Quote from the site, "This program makes all the necessary calculations to accurately cut the segments for rings of any diameter and up to 10,000 segments with minimal wood waste." The author utilizes the program to make beautiful turned bowls, vases, lidded containers and other miscellaneous items. Follow this link to Kevin's Woodturnings (http://www.turnedwood.com) and check it out. Other items of interest on the site are under Segmented Turning and Links.
This isn't a shameless plug, I thought it was interesting and thought maybe it would inspire a few projects or an idea for something else. Decorative planters for the wife, handmade-unique gifts for those hard to please relatives, etc.
If anyone else is doing anything like this it would be great if you could share some project photos or photos of finished items.
Cheers,
Harry
