View Full Version : Trying to set origin coordinates

I have a piece that is going to require a few manual tool changes, therefore I am wanting to run these as seperate gcodes.

I created a fixture and now I am wanting to clamp an item into that fixture and run several different steps on it using the original alignment I used to produce the fixture. So now I have different layers saved as DXF's and I made a starting point in the same place on each layer. However I dont know how to tell LazyCam to make that starting point a certain X,Y coordinate?

Did all that make sense? :)

Also, how do I change the direction of a cut? For example I have a straight pocket the same width as the bit. LazyCam is automatically setting it up to run right to left because its closer to the starting point. But, I want it to cut from left to right, is there a way to tell LazyCam to switch the direction?

There's a new manual that may have the info you need.

Well I scanned through the ebook and a very good book it looks to be. I did find out how to change my starting cut point, so thank you for that.

I was not able to find out how to change the origin coordinates, or should I not do that?

Thanks

I don't use lazyCAM, but you might try moving the drawing in your CAD program so the origin is where you want it when you save the .dxf.
