Hi - you might get more replies in the RFQ section.

A drawing is pretty much a given to get a real quote. There are a lot of machinist that can make things from a hand drawing as well. it does not have to be perfect, but I would use graph paper at least.

I found that having even a balsa wood or clay rough proto of what I was after helped a lot with the discussion.

I don't do this kind of work, but there are plenty of people on the forum that do.

Not to take away from the users of the forum, but have you considered using a local machine shop - they are in the yellow pages under "machine shop" - and they don't bite - really - they can help you. :D
