I have seen a build at one time that some one used a gas torch vs a plasma. Now I can not find the build.

Would this be a good option to start with and work up to a good plasma cutter? I am wanting to do some limited cutting on 3/4" to 1" plate steel. Any help would be great.

The first link listed is my build. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. If you read my build log from start to finish & pay attention to the pictures. You may notice I had to back up & punt from doing some things wrong & having to re-do.

I jumped into the project without doing enough research. Although I am decent with muddling my way around with a PC. I had absoutely no understanding of what makes a cutting table tick.

My table is still somewhat of a science project. LOL It really does cut really well & more accurate than parts I was used to purchasing from steel suppliers.
