coltz

[This item is from an ebay auction, so I'm assuming this is the right place? Sorry if not!]
I bid $1 on a nice looking DMM CNC. I won it. Between the $500 crating fee and shipping the $1 bid is looking too expensive. So I'm looking to sell it for my cost: $500.99 (I'll eat the $.99 if necessary).
It's already crated, you just have to arrange shipping. Location is OFallon, MO. Crated weight is 1,000lbs.
The starret table alone seems worth more than this, so it's like you get a CNC for free. A friend had one at work and said the runout was in angstroms (used to make lens). They said it was being used to cut metal, but I assume just small pieces (air collet).
The known problem with this is that the reseller said they can't get high speed on, but I assume this is b/c they are unfamiliar w/ the machine.
Here's the auction:

From their description:
DMM-2004 CNC-Lathe-4
Model: 1068-4
Serial number: 285-4
Spindle and slide are attached to a Starrett pink granite surface plate (6" x 24" x 36")
Equipped with:
Westwind air bearing spindle
Air collet closer
PC with monitor and keyboard
Controls are manufactured by Dover Instruments Corp in Westboro, Ma.
110V
Weight: 500 pounds
Dims: 4' x 4' x 5'
This machine came from a medical company and was used to cut microscope lenses. We think the machine was manufactured in 2004. This is as much as we know about this. The PC and controls come on, spindle spins on low RPM. We are not sure how to increase the RPM's. And the collet closer works. We are selling this machine AS IS, WHERE IS.
