Does anyone have a chart (preferably with bit pictures) of what bits, size and shape, to use with what wood for desired results.

Such as:
1. picture engraving.
2. letter engraving.
3. cutout parts.

and so on, i know this is general question and many senerios, but a simple guide would help new members to know which bits to try to buy.

Maybe a standard set to put together like the most common used.

Thanks, Joe

I would be interested in this type of list.

I too would like a list of what others are using. So far its trial and error and more errors than I would like others to know.

Thanks
Terry

what exactly is a compression bit. I am assuming a upcut bit gives a clean top cut and a downcut bit a clean bottom cut. mjh

You got the right idea. Just backwards. The down sheer is on the top and the up on the bottom.
