I just recieved my sharp 2412. I'm trying to find out if the manual has a misprint on the retention knob print, as it seems to be an uncommon size. The dia. between the flange and the knob on my print says it's 9.8mm or ~.386". But the common size is .490". Can someone with a 2412 confirm the retention knob size.
Thanks for the help,
Michael

Everything I have on the 2412 specifies a Valenite PT-475 pullstud. See attached .jpg.

0.392 is actually fairly common. It's an adaptation of a BT40 pull stud but with the 5/8-11 thread to fit CAT40s.
However, I think you may be right that the 2412 uses the .490 size. What did Sharp say about this?

I have been using the .490 for 2 years now with no problems at all.
