OK, I have the 6" KITAGAWA chock on the SL-10. It's only been on about three months. I can't get the drawtube nut to come loose. The operator's manual says the chuck has to be clamped, so I tried that first. The techs say it has to be unclamped, so I tried that. I really need some other advice, is there a better tool than the wrench that comes with it? Is there some way to modify it? HELP!!!
PLEASE!!!!!

Thanks for the pointer, it's a different way of doing it than the manual says or the tech guys. Anything is worth trying right now.
Thanks again.

Clamped as you should find out when you read my post that thum31 linked you to.
It can be a real pain unscrewing the nut because if you are not careful you round off the corners of the slots in the nut. The trick I have discovered is to keep the wrench held in firmly with the turret, but not too firmly otherwise you trigger a Z servo overload.
Good luck,
