I keep seeing reference to 350"/min as being an aiming point for a CNC plasma cutting thin material. My question is... what is a reasonable acceleration for a machine to get there?
This sounds innocuous, but it isn't really. The reason is I'm sure the servos I have for the X axis are suitably powerful, but I need to make sure the servo I get for the Y axis isn't a limiting factor. I therefor want to do calculations...
Also, I haven't seen much reference to deceleration. Can a servo decelerate a part at the same rate it can accelerate it? How about braking servos. How do these work?
Thanks
Rod
