Does anyone know where to get UHMW in 3/4 or 1 inch thick pieces? I called a couple of places here in St. Louis looking for drops but haven't had any luck. I've seen it on ebay but haven't really seen any bargains.

Or, just go into a Woodcraft store and pick up whatever pieces you need. http://www.woodcraft.com I'm sure there are other sources, too...but this one is convenient for me. There's a Woodcraft that's in Dallas. -- Chuck Knight WP1 02-15-2005, 10:23 PM If there is a Woodcraft store near you they carry a pack of assortect UHMW drops fairly cheap. The assortment generally includes 3/4" and 1" stock. http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=4299 WP1 02-15-2005, 10:24 PM Impressive, the same response posted at essentially the same time :D 2muchstuff 02-15-2005, 10:28 PM There is a Woodcraft store in St. Louis ( Creve Coeur) also a Rockler store ( Bridgeton) that may have some. Go to onlinemetals.com they have it in 3/4 inch and 1 inch thicknesses. Breaker 02-15-2005, 10:32 PM Thanks I checked and Woodcrafters is here in town. I'll give them a call tomorrow to see if they have the 3 lb bag in stock. I'm getting closer to starting my cnc mill. Breaker 02-15-2005, 10:39 PM I went to the Rockler stores website and they have uhmw 4'' X 24'' X 3/4'' for 17.99. I might be better off getting the bigger piece. I should have asked sooner. I spent a bunch of time calling around trying to find this stuff. 2muchstuff 02-15-2005, 11:00 PM Ask and ye shall recieve. Forums are great... huh. ger21 02-16-2005, 06:34 AM McMater-Carr has just about any size and type you might want, and they have the fastest shipping you'll ever find. http://mcmaster.com ajwaverider 02-23-2005, 10:08 PM Try professionalplastics.com . I always check Mcmaster and Proffesional and online metals. Each one has better prices on things than the others. DaveP 02-04-2008, 09:41 AM Thes people sell some uhmw and stuff made with uhmw - if the size you need isn't there call them and ask - maybe you can get just what you need there or find out where they get big sheets. http://www.ptreeusa.com/uhmw_list.htm |
