I'm looking for a post to interface Mastercam V8, to an old Robotool CVM1 mill. Optionally, I'm open to ideas about contracting someone to create one.
Thanks - E

Do you have a programming tool?

Mastercam's posts are ASCII based and can be edited with any text editor. ;)

When you say 'interface' do you mean you want MC to control the machine, or just do normal G-Codes that you load into the machine and run. If the former, you need different software. If the latter, we'll just need a sample of the code your machine requires, and a copy of the post you're currently using. (There may be one on the CD that's close to what you need)

Thanks Rekd.
I was/am interested in a post for Mastercam, as I have the option to get it from a vendor who has since migrated to another program. Rigth now I'm pounding it out by hand :tired: If I decide to go with MC, I'll get in touch about a modified Post.

Tim; Have you found the "master disk" for your Robotool yet? I had CVM1, which I sold 4 years ago. I still have the Manuals, and possibly some Master Disks. As I remember, they (the 3 1/2 floppy) are format in CPM. Does it have an RS-232 port? If so, there's a way around it,
Good Luck, Gerry
