Ok guys I bought this off ebay a while ago, I think for $25.

I am not a electronic guru but looking at this pdf from cnc4pc (http://cnc4pc.com/Tech_Docs/Minarik_MM.pdf) got me thinking that maybe I should just ask someone here if they have done this to a stock sherline controller.

This variable speed control and Miniarik I thought would control the on off function of the spindle , and also control the spindle speed via g code ?

Am I correct on this ?

As for installing this, if I pull the Sherline controller cover off, what am I looking for to install this.

I know people will say , heck if you dont know what your looking for, you shouldnt be messing with it. But lets get past that.

A picture with a little red arrow point to a terminal , or a short brief tutorial on what I need would be greatly appreciated.

I am willing to try this while I wait for my Monster Mill upgrades. I ll take pictures later of what I have board wise and how its hooked up. But its hooked up exactly how it shows in the pdf above. Now I just need to know how to hook it up to the sherline controller.

I dont know if it makes a difference but I am using EMC to run this.

Is there a latest and greatest version of EMC. Mine is what came with my sherline about a year and a half ago. I am sure there is an upgrade on it now.

Thanks

PS I wanted to Thank Jeff Birt from Soigeneris.com for talking with me on the phone about alot of parts and stuff. Great guy to deal with !

The only advise I can give you is to buy a separate power supply to power the cnc4pc board, and use it to power the cnc4pc board only!!!Otherwise you will fry some electronics.
