I am looking for a gang style set up for my new TL-2. I have only found the Dorian setup and a setup that is being put out by Richlin machinery. I have seen the ones people are doing here but I am looking for a unit to buy. Are there any others available out there.

If you are talking about the one that is advertised on EBAY (http://cgi.ebay.com/Gang-tool-adapter-for-Haas-TL-1-or-TL-2_W0QQitemZ7606021052QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1c55aabbc&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116) from Richlin that one is made to order by a guy in Nevada. Then theres the Dorian Victrory setup ($$$). I have looked and looked and haven't seen any others.

That one on E-bay looks quite good for the price.

Yeah I called that guy in Nevada. And they are made to order. But you only get the riser block and the plate with the t slot. You still have to order a gang tool plate. And all the other tooling. So I just went ahead and ordered a Dorian set up. Thanks

Four hours and twenty two minutes from posting the question to just giving up and buying Dorian. You're not very patient, are you? ;)

I'm not sure what you'll think of gang tooling, but I'll say that you will be happy with Dorian's quality.

Our parts are small so a gang tool set up is perfect for us. And I had pretty much made up my mind already, I was just wanting to see if there were any other setups out there. We have a omni-turn for doing most of our parts. But we did not have a manual lathe in our shop. So I got the TL-2 from the Haas inventory reduction sale to go along with my tool room mill. Kind of overkill for our parts I know but atleast we have the capability now to do larger work if need be.

The TL-2 was the wise choice. The TL-1 doesn't make any sense for anybody, except for the price point. The TL-2 is the same machine with more power, travel and spindle bore; what's not to love?

So you bought the Dorian gang tooling for the CXA / CA toolpost? Or was it some other kind of gang setup? I really, really liked the modular design of that dovetail-mount gang tooling setup.

The d**n stupid enclosure and door when using the 10" manual chuck. I have been out of serious machine action for two weeks due to RSI on my back muscles from wrestling the chuck key at a funny angle.

Something to watch out for if you are doing production on a TL with the three jaw chuck.

Well, the enclosure adds its own set of challenges, not related to being a 1 or 2. Don't even bring the tailstock into this discussion. :)

Yeah my TL-2 came with a V40TC post with a couple of holders. But to suit us we need a gang set up. Also put the air 5c setup from Royal on it.

Does that mean that you bought a standalone gang tooling setup or did you buy this one that fits onto your toolpost? Man, I'm in love with this thing.

The way I understand the Dorian catalogue is that it will fit on my tool post. Where did you get that picture. When I go to Dorians website all I get it red x's on the pictures.

Yeah, Dorian's website is pretty sorry. I think you can download a PDF of that portion of the catalog. Good pictures in the catalog, once you find the right pages.
