I have a new 1-1/2 HP dust collector. I have read many points of view on the need for grounding.
If you have a dust collector, do you have it grounded to prevent static? If not please explain your reasons for not doing so.

The dust collector itself should be grounded through the plug. The only time I really see talk of grounding, is when PVC pipe is used for ductwork.
