Since using Solidcam I've had plenty of Questions, most of which have been answered by you helpful folks.

Now I have nothing to ask and it's annoying!

One thing that stems from this annoyance is the confidence that SC gives you to design more complex parts as a bit of a challenge. I think that if I'd gone the Mastercam route I'd still be struggling with the various planes of construction, toolpath etc.

Oh well, that's all I have to say for now.

I did have some questions about HSM finishing, but I sussed it, so no need to trouble anyone.

Cheers,

Matt.

I know that feeling. But take heart, SolidCAM 2009 (which nobody at SolidCAM is referring to as R13) is here so we shall all have the joy of finding new ways of getting in a muddle. I have given th "Whats New" pdf a once over and there looks to be good things in there.

Yes Bob, I browsed through the "what's new" video. One thing I especially liked and think is very important is the ability to use pre-drilled holes when roughing in HSM. The 3D roughing already does this (and I like using it) and I did ask before about this as the r12 has a shaded option to use pre-drilled (3D drilled) holes but I couldn't get it to work. Obviously they already had this in the plan ;-)

After this morning, I do actually have a question..........

Oh, and do you know if it'll work fine with SW2007? I was too cheap to upgrade and r12 has been working fine in 2007.

I haven't a clue if it will work with SW 2007 but I expect so as when I first started with SolidCAM I was on SolidCAM R10 (read 2006) and our designers were on a mixture of SW 2002 and 2003.

I just wonder what new variables they have added to the CAM output that will remain undocumented in the post documents
