When filleting a solid......any way to search only for edges instead of autosearching for solid faces / edges? V9 could switch on edges only.

Yes,
on the "general Selection" toolbar
unselect the "Select Face" and "Select Body" icons
The only blue one should be "Select Edge"

and there ya have it
