Hi Guys; both my first thread here about the mini lathe and the Drill/Mill seem popular thread with 1000+ views

My next project is a bigger mill; 3 axis (for now) stepper or servo (I have both on hand) travels are 20"+ X axis 13-14" Y axis 11-12" Z axis; it will most likely be a gantry type bench top mill
If it's stepper it will have Slosyn 450oz hold and compumotor S6 drives
If servos they will be IB23007 these (http://www.mcg-net.com/electric_motors/ib23000.php) and Copley amps the 503 (http://www.copleycontrols.com/motion/amplifiers/Analog/5series/) with 1 or 2 of the large PS's I posted about in electronics forum this thread (http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6581)
The spindle may or may not be home built (not sure yet)
The main frame parts will be large Aluminum extrusions (I beam and Channel)
Linear slides and ball screws

So if you want; i can take more pics of set-ups and machining parts; and how i go about making one of my machines

Post if there is interest; normally i just build and post the almost finished item

Thanks for the interest in my other builds
Steve

I followed both your previous builds. Great stuff. I'd like the chance to see your builds in more detail. You make such cool stuff.

Regards Terry....

Stevie,

I would like to see the pictures from your past projects, but all of the links to your site seem to be broken. Is there any possibility of uploading them to the gallery?

Thanks!

On another point; i think this might be better in electronics; I have 5 of those servos; and i was think of one as the spindle drive; could i control it with a Toshiba VF-SXN 200V 0.4kW Inverter

I usually delete them as the FTP is not mine and i hate to use all the bandwidth
I have them on one of my HD's somewhere

Cool, thanks! Why don't you use the CNC Zone Gallery for you pictures?

Looks like I will be making this a step by step then

I will be starting off with the X axis; I dropped in Fastenal yesterday and picked up 100 6mm 20mm cap heads; we are off and rolling

Chk out the mill/drill thread; i just finished the last post with full pics; even the workspace

chk it out (http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?p=61059#post61059)
