I'm having trouble with my drawings and the problems are the lines. How does one extend an existing line? I've tried the "Sketch" under the line option to extend a vertical line but it doesn't "line-up" with the original line. I've tried adding an "end point" to the existing line and then drawing a vertical line from that point but it doesn't exactly line up with the existing line. What function is used to make a line extension exactly line up with the existing line?

How does one make a line that is parallel to another line but is much longer than the existing line?

Also I want to draw a line from the intersetion of two lines to the intersetion of two other lines. How do you specify the intersection as the start point and another intersection as the end point? Thanks.

Use Utilities>Trim/Extend to extend one line to another.

Use Line>Parallel to make a parallel line and then lay in a construction line to Extend it to.

Use Point>Intersection to put a point at each intersection, then use Line>Join to create line.

Good luck,

You can also try "Line Continuous" and "shift click" your start/end entity to see snap points. Then utilize the vertical and horizontal functions in there. You'll also notice it snaps to segment points already.
