Donkey Hotey 04-10-2009, 10:52 PM All of that information is in their pre-installation manual, available at: http://www.haascnc.com/custserv_updates.asp#custserv This is the manual: http://www.haascnc.com/pdf/ES0332.pdf The answer is 50 Amp with 8 gauge wire. Geof 04-10-2009, 10:57 PM Go to this link and scroll down. You will see a link labelled: Toolroom Lathe 96-0112T This gives you all the infor about the TL machines. Page 5 is the electrical infor; 40amp for single phase, 20amp for three phase hercules 04-10-2009, 11:19 PM Thanks for the links gents. I knew I had seen it on the Haas website somewhere but just couldn't find it again. My new lathe comes on Wed and I am trying to get everything ready. But it will be MY wimpy little TL-1 ;) Donkey Hotey 04-10-2009, 11:39 PM Not on a wimpy little TL1.:) Dunno', that's what their pre-installation manual says. I agree. I think the 50 amp rating was actually for single phase installation but it was all they listed in that online manual. :) Geof 04-10-2009, 11:40 PM Wimpy? Ouch! But it will be MY wimpy little TL-1 ;) Sorry, didn't mean to introduce possible feelings of inadequacy; the dig was aimed at Sancho Panza's boss. I have two TL1s and one TL2 and I am very happy with all three. hercules 04-10-2009, 11:44 PM No worries. I am upgrading from a WIMPY Grizzly 3 in 1 lathe/mill/drill. Compared to that thing the TL-1 is a monster. :wee: Geof 04-10-2009, 11:50 PM No worries. I am upgrading from a WIMPY Grizzly 3 in 1 lathe/mill/drill. All the parts for the conversion I describe in this thread were machined on my other TL1. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38031 Donkey Hotey 04-11-2009, 01:36 AM Which options did you get with it? I assume that at very least, you got the tailstock? Pretty basic. Chuck, toolpost, coolant, tailstock, rigid tap, A basic set of Kennametal indexable toolholders (CNxx., VNxx, A2/3 cut off, 1" boring bar & a "top notch" toolholder). Basic yes but still a huge upgrade from my little Grizzly 3 in 1 lathe/mill/drill. I really would have liked to add the turret toolpost but it just wasn't in the budget for now. Yes I do know if I use the coolant I'll need rain gear. I plan to build my own shields eventually. I did that on my TM-1 over the first 6 months I owned it and it is down to barely a drip now. Donkey Hotey 04-11-2009, 01:26 PM Ha! That's far from 'basic.' I bought mine with...a tailstock. :) Heck, I didn't even get rigid tapping (figured I could add it later with a credit card). Congrats on the purchase. |
